Guest Hydration for a Carmel-by-the-Sea Wedding Weekend
A Carmel-by-the-Sea wedding weekend asks a great deal of the people who flew in for it. Guests land at Monterey or drive down from San Francisco, do a tasting in Carmel Valley on the Friday, walk 17-Mile Drive on Saturday morning, and are still expected to be upright for a late reception. Offering group hydration across the weekend is a practical piece of guest care, and it does not have to be complicated or paid for by the couple. Vivere Drip Therapy can run a morning window at your room-block hotel with a licensed physician assistant on site, or simply take guest bookings at our Carmel and Salinas clinics all weekend. This page covers how to offer it without pressure, how travel fees work across multiple addresses, and what belongs on the menu.
What a Monterey weekend does to guests who flew in
By Saturday afternoon your out-of-town guests have had a travel day, a connection through San Francisco or San Jose, a drive down Highway 1, a tasting room in Carmel Valley on Friday and a late welcome party. Add a windy morning on 17-Mile Drive and an afternoon walking Carmel-by-the-Sea, and plenty of people reach the ceremony under-slept and short on fluid. Nothing dramatic is happening to them. They are dehydrated, they have been drinking, and they have been eating at restaurant hours in a place they do not know. That is the honest case for offering guests IV hydration across the weekend: fluid volume, electrolytes and vitamins, delivered by a licensed physician assistant, in roughly the time it takes to have breakfast. It is not medical treatment for anything, and we will not describe it that way to your guests either.
Offering it without making guests feel obliged
The mistake is putting a signup sheet in the welcome bag and turning a personal medical decision into a group activity. What works is quieter: a line on the wedding website and a card in the bag with the phone number and /book, and nothing more. Guests who want it arrange their own appointment and pay for their own treatment, which keeps it private and keeps it off the couple's budget. If the couple would rather host, we can quote a set block of drips at one address on one morning, billed to the host, with anything beyond that block paid by the guest. Both models are ordinary for us. Say which you want at quote time and we will write the arrangement, the deposit and the change cutoff into the same document.
One address, several, or come to the clinic
Guest hydration gets expensive when guests are scattered, because each visit carries its own travel fee on top of treatment prices, confirmed when we quote. If there is a room block at a Carmel Valley resort or a hotel in Monterey, a single morning window at that address covers most of the people who want it. For everyone else, the clinic is often the better answer: Carmel at 26485 Carmel Rancho Blvd, Suite 6, or Salinas at 306 Capitol Street, Suite 105. Guests book their own time, drive over, and no travel fee applies. That also suits the guest who would rather not have a line placed in a room full of the couple's relatives. Most wedding weekends we work end up as a mix of the two.
A drip menu that fits guests, not the wedding party
Guests want different things than the bridal party does. The Big Sur immune booster, 1000 ml over forty minutes at $300, is what people ask for after a week of flights. The Basic Boost at $160 covers plain rehydration, 1000 ml in forty minutes. A methylcobalamin B-12 injection at $35 takes ten minutes, which is all some guests want between a morning at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and the ceremony. The Shark Attack hangover drip is $200 for a liter. And if part of the party is playing Pebble Beach or Spyglass Hill on the Friday, the 17 Mile Performance Hydration is $380 for 1000 ml over forty-five minutes or $310 for 500 ml, built for a long day on your feet in coastal wind. Nobody has to choose the same drip as anyone else.
Screening older guests and anyone on medication
Every guest is screened by a licensed physician assistant before anything is started: medical history, current medications, allergies and blood pressure. That matters more across a wedding weekend than at a single appointment, because a guest list includes grandparents, people taking blood pressure or diuretic medication, and people managing heart or kidney conditions. Some of them will be told no, and that is the correct outcome, since a fluid load is not appropriate for everyone. Ask guests to bring a medication list, and let them know consent forms go out ahead of time so the appointment is treatment rather than paperwork. Nothing about a guest's medical history goes back to the couple or the planner. To arrange hydration for a wedding weekend, book at /book or call (831) 253-9537.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can guests book individually, or does the couple arrange it?
Either works, and most weekends use both. The couple can put our number and /book in the welcome bag and on the wedding website and let guests arrange their own appointments and pay for their own treatments. Or the planner reserves a block at one address for a set number of drips, billed to the host, with anything extra paid by the guest. Tell us which model you want and we will quote it that way.
